Some wedding days are simply a joy to experience and Keegan and Madison’s wedding at the Innwood Ballroom was exactly that. The sun was out, the air was warm (okay…really warm), but absolutely no one let the heat get in the way of celebrating. From start to finish, it felt like joy was the only thing on the schedule.

There wasn’t any rushing or stressing about timelines. Instead, the whole day carried this laid-back energy that made it feel like everyone could just be. Friends laughing, family hugging and Keegan and Madison soaking in every second of being with their favorite people.

One of my favorite moments came at the reception when Madison surprised her dad with a song she had written just for their first dance. He had no idea it was coming and the whole time, he wore the biggest smile on his face. It was one of those moments that made the entire room light up. A memory that will stick with them forever.

And honestly, looking back now, I can’t help but think how lucky we were. Just a couple of days later, Spillville got almost 9.5 inches of rain, and the Innwood Ballroom was completely surrounded by water. Thankfully it never reached the building, but still give me a warm August day over the stress of last minute needed to relocate the reception!

Keegan and Madison, your day was such a reflection of the two of you: relaxed, joyful and full of love. Thank you for inviting me into it. I feel so honored to have captured these moments, and I can’t wait for you to look back on them for years to come.
