If you have been around for awhile you know how much of a transformation this room has gone through. When we moved in it was blue. I should be more specific, it was a blue that took three coats of primer and paint to cover. I used this room for an entire year as a studio and it captured so many memories of little newborns. We painted two different times and refinished the floor thanks to the help of my family. We installed a shiplap wall for photos. But when we found out we were pregnant, I knew I wanted to make my favorite room in our home into Maddie’s nursery.
I knew from the very beginning I didn’t want a super overdone theme. We wanted something that would be easy to transition as “Little Baby S” got older. I also wanted a space that would be gender neutral that I could add just a few finishing touches to later. And to make things a little easier, I also wanted it to match the style of the rest of our home! And so this subtle woodland theme was born.
The FIRST item I bought for the nursery was this little fluffy bunny and it was the jumping off point for the rest of the design! I made SOOO many mood boards and I think it turned out better than I had hoped it would!!!
So enjoy Maddie’s super subtle woodland themed nursery tour! I have no doubt it will change a lot as she gets older but I love this little space! And can’t wait for all the memories we will continue to make in this space!!!
