Life has a funny way of working out just when you start to believe it never will.
On this day a year ago, I had no confidence in myself, this business or my plan. I had four sessions under my belt for the year with the most amazing clients. You read that right, four and we were half way through the year. And while I had a few sessions on the horizon, I was scared. I knew this was what I wanted needed to do. It was the breath of fresh air that I so desperately craved in my life, but I had no idea how to make it a reality. So, I hustled, and I hustled hard. Countless hours of learning and education, lots of sleepless nights and heartache and more miles on my car than I care to disclose and here we are. Life really does have a funny way of working out. Last year, it took me over 6 months to book four clients. This year, we had that many sessions this week alone!
And now I am living the dream with literally the best clients a girl could ask for!
Brenna is one of my 2019 MHD Spokesmodels and technically this is her blog post. I hope she doesn’t mind that I hijacked the first half of her feature to think back on the past year! (I promise I will make up for it in sheer volume of photos below!) We met down in Cedar Falls on the campus of UNI for some fun, summer senior pics and yes, I did throw in some Wartburg jabs every chance I could get! Not that UNI isn’t a great school with a beautiful campus, but air-conditioned sky walks to get to all the locations would have been nice with how hot it was! Just sayin 😀
All joking aside, I loved getting to hang out with Brenna and her family as we hit so many beautiful locations in Cedar Falls with her sister as our tour guide and chauffeur. We filled up our ENTIRE two-hour slot stopping in every nook and cranny that my heart desired. Did I mention that Brenna is literally the best and most trusting person ever? I mean at one point I had her lay down in the grass on Main Street in Cedar Falls where people were eating dinner just steps away and she didn’t even bat an eye when I had her pose on the busiest intersection I could find JUST for shots in front of the theatre!
Brenna, you truly are a gem to work with and I hope you love these photos just as much as I do! P.S. I am so thankful that this isn’t the last time we get to work together and hang out, because that would literally break my heart. So here is to me counting down the days till we do this all over again in the fall <3
