It isn’t very often that I get to have a “first” any more. But I was so excited when Zoe’s mom reached out about me capturing her senior photos in Elkader. Growing up in the area, I have been to Elkader many times but never for a portrait session! And after our long day of back to back sessions, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I mean there is nothing that sparks creativity more than shooting in a brand new location. Zoe set such a high bar for her Elkader senior session!

We met up in downtown Elkader and Zoe was ready to rock it! Her outfits were on point. Her locations were to die for. And the lighting was a photographer’s dream! Seriously! I couldn’t have planned a better night if I tried!!! We were able to explore all of the back alleys with their beautiful murals as well as some hidden gems along the way. I think I may need to start painting murals on every wall I find!
