Cows and kittens and pumpkins oh my! I have been emailing with Jessi for a little while now and by her emails alone I knew we were going to click. But never in my wildest dreams would I have expected their Garnavillo Iowa engagement session to go THIS well! I can’t speak for them but I had so much fun exploring their little acreage and meeting all of their furry friends. Especially knowing how important they were to Nevin and Jessi’s love story together!
I could tell you the story of how Nevin popped the question but I think Jessi said it best:
“In typical dairy farmer fashion, we got engaged at a herd dispersal sale. The jersey herd was one I had been following for genetics and production traits that I wanted to add to my own jersey breeding program. I asked Nevin if we could get just a little calf from that herd, he surprised me by buying 2 milking cows and the calf I wanted. We went to the barn after the sale was done to look at our new girls. I was looking at the cows, completely oblivious to anything else going on, when Nevin said my name. So I turned around to see him down on one knee with a ring. Obviously I was quite shocked and I had to ask him if he was serious a couple times to be sure that this was real life!”
I mean how romantic that Nevin made sure to incorporate something so important to their story in his proposal. So it was only fitting that we started their session with a few pictures with their “engagement calf.”
Nevin & Jessi, thank you so much for the great time last Monday! I honestly can’t put into words how excited I am for your wedding at Memories on Maple next year. The love you have for each other is so profound and on display for all the world to see. And if your engagement session was any indication of how fun your wedding day will be, I better start preparing now for a day filled with laughter and love! I hope you enjoy just a few of my many favorites from your Garnavillo Iowa engagement session below! I am already counting down the days until I get to see y’all again!
