The sky turned grey and the rain began to fall. Nervous glances were exchanged as everyone silently looked out the windows. RJ & Alessandra’s Illinois Country Club wedding wasn’t going quite as planned. But with quiet assurance, we decided to just wait it out. We hoped and prayed for the rain to stop and I would be lying if I wasn’t constantly refreshing our weather apps. And like a wedding present from above, the sun started to peek through the clouds just fifteen minutes before the first look. And best of all, the rain held off for five full hours right up until our very last portrait of the day. Talk about a miracle!
RJ and Alessandra emailed me over a year ago describing their future wedding as elegant and romantic with a touch of whimsy. After seeing the day unfold on Saturday, I would have to say their description couldn’t have been more perfect. And between you and me, no amount of rain could have changed that. All of the little details of their golf course wedding showcased who they are as a couple. From the soft tears shared during their first look to their handwritten vows, there was not a moment of the day that their love was not at the forefront of it all.
RJ & Alessandra, I am so thankful that you stumbled upon my website in your search for the photographer to capture your special day. It has been such a pleasure to get to know you two over the past year and such an honor to witness your wedding. Ethan and I wish you nothing but the best as you take on this life, together, as husband and wife. And we can’t wait to see how your love continues to grow in the years to come.
