We left our house in the pouring rain and I prayed that the radar was telling me the truth and that there wasn’t any rain in Cedar Rapids. When we pulled into Indian Creek Nature Center, the grass was wet but no rain in sight! Thank goodness! We took a few minutes to walk around before the Swick’s arrived and let me tell you the place was gorgeous! From the little pond to the wooden fence, I knew we would have lots of options to choose from for portraits.
When the Swick family arrived, I knew immediately that it was going to be a fun session. Little Amelia was waving hello from her dad’s arms with a little bow in her hair and Henry showed me his new wallet he had just gotten for his birthday! (I wonder if Ethan would be that happy if I bought him a velcro wallet for his birthday?) We flew through all of our poses as we tried to keep the little’s attention and I was loving all of it. How could I not be having fun when I got to see Henry’s “farmer” impression for a few of the photos?!? We were even able to pull Karolyn and Mike off to the side to get some quick portraits of just the two of them. Then Amelia tried to make her escape through the fence with the biggest smile on her face! A huge shout out to these two parent’s for wrangling these kids day in and day out, because even after just an hour I was EXHAUSTED!
Swick family, thank you so much for inviting me take these family photos for you! I haven’t laughed that much in a long time and I hope you had just as much fun as I did Sunday morning!!! Enjoy a few of my favorites!!!!
