Postville Iowa Sunset Engagement Session

It isn’t every day that we get to photograph our close friends. In fact, more often than not our clients start out as strangers and LATER become friends! But for this Postville Iowa engagement session, we started out minute one with laughs and EPIC portraits with two of our closest friends! There is something so special about getting to capture these moments for people we already know and care about. Instead of those awkward first 15 minutes where I am still technically a stranger, we were able to jump straight into the magic.

While I was a little worried about the heat, we actually ended up with a pretty amazing night!

We met up at Andy and Abby’s home north of Postville just a couple hours before sunset. We started out in an open field owned by one of our family friends just a few short minutes away. And while I knew it would be amazing, I was blown away by the light coming up over the trees! Literally a photographer’s dream, minus the bugs of course! Abby and Andy were dressed to a “T” and I couldn’t have asked for more natural models. Just a few frames in I was already throwing out my initial plans and going straight for some more advanced poses! We were laughing and having a great time while Ethan supervised and acted as our personal chauffeur for the night.

Andy and Abby, it has been so fun to witness your love story from the very beginning. We truly couldn’t think of two people more perfect for each other than you both. And we are so honored that you have trusted us to capture this special chapter of your love story. I hope you had just as much fun as we did during your Postville Iowa engagement session. And let’s plan on doing it all over again in August but with a big party to celebrate the start of your forever!
