Motor Mill was always the plan for Scotlyn’s individual senior session. But last minute we decided to throw in some Downtown Elkader locations too! And man oh man was I excited! Ever since Zoe’s senior session there last year I have been dying to go back. It has all the charm that I love to shoot in a small town with stellar murals to top it off!
We started Scotlyn’s senior session on the river while we waited for the lighting to be just right. And bless her heart because getting down and maneuvering by the water IN HEELS was no easy feat. But I think the light was worth it! Then we explored all of the back alleys that Elkader had to offer!!! Who thinks more towns need to start painting murals because I am totally down to make that happen?!?
Which is crazy because it is stunning at sunset and offers so many options. But I think my favorites from the night were Scotlyn’s mini session images with her mom! They were so sweet together and I love that they have portraits of just the two of them to remember this special time.
Scotlyn, thanks for putting up with my crazy ideas for two solid hours! I hope the night was as fun for you as it was for me. And if nothing else, that you have portraits you love as much as I do! Now when can we go back to Motor Mill and try to figure out how to get to the other side of the water?
