If 2020 has taught me anything it is that even changed plans can be perfect. Just a couple months before I met up with them at the Yellow River State Forest, Aaron was getting ready to pop the question to Chelsea. And while it may not have gone 100% as planned, I think they would both agree that it was still just as magical.
“We had been talking about taking a little weekend getaway for a while. But we couldn’t find the right time between our schedules. He works on the river and is gone for weeks at a time. I am a full-time nursing student, so I have no free time. Finally, we decided to take a trip to Door County, WI over the Fourth of July weekend. Little did I know, he had plans to propose while we were there.
While he was out working on the river, he had been in contact with Elliott Jewelers, designing and ordering my perfect ring. While all of this was going on, he was also doing some research on Door County. He found the perfect place to propose – the top of the Cana Island Lighthouse. It is one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the area! But as we were boarding our ride to travel across the lake to get to the lighthouse, we found out the lighthouse was closed due to COVID-19. But we were still able to walk around and enjoy the island. Of course, this interfered with his plan, but while we were walking the island, he scoped out the perfect place and asked those words that every girl dreams of hearing. Of course, I said yes.”
Aaron and Chelsea, I was so honored when you reached out for me to capture your special day! But getting to meet you and see the love you have for one another has me even more excited for you both!!! I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek of your engagement session at the Yellow River State Forest!!!
