It’s always special when couples choose to celebrate their wedding day somewhere deeply personal and Tristan and Casey’s wedding in Mosinee, Wisconsin, was exactly that. Hosting your wedding on family property is such a meaningful choice but it’s also one that takes a lot of extra work and love behind the scenes.
When I arrived to start photographing details, I was honestly blown away. From the ceremony setup by the pond to the huge white tent for their reception, everything looked stunning. But what stood out even more than the decor was the people. Family and friends were buzzing around, working together, putting the finishing touches on every last detail. It was such a beautiful reminder that a wedding isn’t just about one couple but the whole community that surrounds them.
And then came the ceremony. It was filled with so many sweet (and surprising!) moments that had everyone smiling. Their cats, Sushi and Beans, made a grand entrance as celebrity VIPs: escorted in by “security guards,” much to the shock and excitement of their guests. During their vows, Tristan and Casey revealed surprise inscriptions inside their wedding bands they had each kept secret until that moment. And when they finally shared their first kiss as husband and wife? A giant confetti explosion!
The celebration didn’t stop there. Their reception combined the best of both worlds: a DJ to keep the dance floor packed and a live polka band featuring none other than the groom’s dad. It was such a fun, personal touch that perfectly reflected the mix of tradition and personality woven throughout their day.
Tristan and Casey, thank you so much for letting me be part of your day. Your wedding was such a perfect reflection of who you are together and it was an honor to witness.
