The August sun was relentless as it shined down upon the ceremony site of this Waverly wedding as they sat waiting for the bride to make her entrance. A calm rolled over the crowd as the music changed and all eyes turned to the west. There she stood, dressed in white, making the walk down the aisle with her father. After a quick glimpse of her soon to be husband, holding back tears, waiting under the flower adorned arch brings an instant smile to her face.

The day had come, she was going to marry her best friend

Ethan and I had the honor of capturing Corey and Courtney’s wedding day in the rolling hills on the outskirts of Waverly this past weekend. I’ve wanted to shoot at this stunning location for quite some time. And let me tell you, it more than lived up to its’ reputation!

Above all, Prairie Links is just stunning…and they haven’t even finished all of their renovations yet?!?

It’s off the beaten path and it was easy to forget that you were still technically in the city limits. For example, just a short golf cart ride down the course had us immersed in a sea of wildflowers that perfectly matched the day. I could have shot Corey and Courtney’s sunset portraits for DAYS at that spot but I refrained because it was definitely a toasty August day and two we needed to get back to the packed dance floor!!

Corey and Courtney’s day couldn’t have been more perfect. And it was so much fun to meet their equally amazing friends! AND, to make this day EVEN better, we got to work with a fellow Wartburg grad!! It was such an honor to be a part of this celebration and let me tell you, it was a celebration! Everyone was excited for these two to tie the knot!! From the first look to the heartfelt toasts and parent dances, I got teary eyed a few times and that’s a tell-tale sign that it was an amazing day!! 🙂 I cannot WAIT to show you Corey and Courtney’s Prairie Links Waverly wedding through our eyes!!
