I told the girls that they wouldn’t be seeing any more photos from yesterday’s session until at least Tuesday, well…SURPRISE!

Before I even launched my spokesmodel program, I had all these visions of styled shoots and all the fun stuff I could incorporate to make it a truly unique senior experience. But no matter how much I planned and prepared, I couldn’t plan for the weather. All week I was stressing about the forecast and the closer we got the more and more it looked like we would have to move it indoors and I’m not gonna lie I was freaking out! So Saturday morning comes and I pack up all my gear including multiple umbrellas (just in case) and get ready to meet the girls in McGregor for hair and makeup by the amazing Kayla Taylor at Creative Enz Salon knowing that I will probably have to get creative at a few indoor locations.

First of all, I cannot say enough good words about Kayla and her work. I will be the first to admit that makeup and all things beauty are not my strong suite, so I put my trust in her knowledge and let her get to work. And OMG!!!! I truly can’t describe how great it was both in person and on camera and by the amount of selfies the girls were taking before they were even finished I think they liked it too! Then in record time we were out the door and on our way to Gracie’s Boutique.

Tiffany, the owner of Gracie’s Boutique, and I have been planning this styled session since before the girls were even accepted. I knew right away I wanted to work with her because I loved the variety of styles and options she offers in her Downtown Decorah location. So when we arrived, we let the girls loose and by the amount of laughter coming from the dressing rooms I think they had a lot of fun trying on clothes and styling each others outfits!

So once they were all glammed up and styled, it was finally time for pictures! And by some miracle, the rain had stopped and we didn’t get a single drop until we packed up the gear and were on our way to Pizza Ranch to refuel from the long day.

After all of my planning, I can honestly say that this day surpassed even my highest expectations. These girls let me drag them around all the back alleys of Decorah and pose them with people walking down the street and not once did they question my crazy antics! They are truly a dream group of ladies and I couldn’t have imaged a better outcome for the first annual MHD Senior Styled Shoot. Now to start counting down the days till their actual senior sessions!!!!
